I can't find pricing on nengun.com and also how much does one rim weight? I'm looking for light weight which is why I was looking at Tenzo R DC-5. Not sure if 17.5 is light in general but it appears to be.t19uz wrote:i choose this for the rims

And you can buy it from here

Hope it helps.
Regards.
I was looking at 17, why do you recommend 18s?t19uz wrote:not bad dude!! just remmember get the 18" !! not the 17"
The offset for the DC-5s is 42mm for 17s and 45 for 18s, I figured 17s would be perfect because it is between the recommended sizes of 40-45. Also "235/40/18 " I assume the 40 is the offset, 18 is the size, what exactly does 235 denote? Sorry but I'm new to all this.t19uz wrote:yes 18" recommended. It makes ur versa look "Fat" and remmember get the right offset.
Because versa got a big fender. If u have a honda fit, 17" still looks good. But for the versa i think its to small.
just follow my offset.
and this my rim spec, i bought it for US $525 (each) without tire.
and the f tire use 225/40/18 and for the rear 235/40/18 ( reffer to my versa zerothread/341557 )

ok and to make totally suret19uz wrote:if uwant to use 18" wheels make sure the offset 18 X 8.0 +40. (no rub at all totally safe)
235/40/18 hmm okey...
235 = The Width of the tire40 = The Thickness of the tire18 = The size of the rims.
well maybe for extra info go to http://www.tiretrack.com
Yes, correct. Would be diameter though, measured from one edge of the outside face to the opposite face of the rim. A circumference would be a measurement around the entire rim.powergrip wrote:18 x 8.0 +40
18 is the diameter or circumference of the rim8.0 is the width of the rim +40 is the offset
Is this correct?
Ya doesn't sound too good to me either. Sticking to 17s is a safe bet me thinks.biggie wrote:Yes, correct. Would be diameter though, measured from one edge of the outside face to the opposite face of the rim. A circumference would be a measurement around the entire rim.
And I would go for the 17 inch in the ones you are talking about. 8" wide wheel isn't really need on these cars and would be extra weight and I'm not sure about the +45 with 8" on how close that would be on the inside of the wheel well.
hehehe like i said, if you buy a Light Weight rims there's no problem with your versa. And if ur talking about grip, i think 235/40/18 is better, bcause before using this, a already used 225/45/17 with Yokohama Advan (is heavier than the gram light pro 57) Rims, and believe me 18" its better.grommitroo wrote:Cool rims!
I would use 215/45/17 tire in a good high performance, all season variety.
18"'s are probably too heavy for a versa. Not enough power them, the 17"'s would have all the grip you would ever need, and be more sensible in the long run.
No offset in there. This is tire size, not wheel size.powergrip wrote: Also "235/40/18 " I assume the 40 is the offset, 18 is the size, what exactly does 235 denote?
hihihihi agree with you bos, it depends ur budget & taste .... but pls don't worry about the mileage if ur using lightweight 18" rims.... just worried about ur pocket heheheheMinisterofDOOM wrote:

Tire sizes work like this:Width/sidewall height/wheel sizeFirst number is tread width in millimeters.Second number is the sidewall height as a percentage of tread width. This is often referred to as the aspect ratio of the tire.Third number is of course the wheel diameter.
SO, to clarify on the sidewall height, a 255/40/18 will have TALLER sidewall than a 235/40/18 since 40% of 255 is more than 40% of 235. Make sense?
One thing you should REALLY consider when trying to decide between 17 and 18 inch wheels is tire price. You could easily end up paying $50 more PER TIRE with 18 inch tires than 17 inch tires. The gap used to be bigger and is slowly shrinking as more cars ship with 18 inch wheels from the factory, so you may end up paying nearly the same in a few years. But right now, you'll probably end up paying at least an extra $100 for a set of 18s versus 17s. Personally, I don't see the need to go to 18 on such a tiny car. It doesn't need wheels that large aesthetically, you're adding rotating mass (which hurts milage and acceleration) and you're paying more for tires. All things to consider. I would definitely not follow the "recommendation" of 18'' wheels others here are making. But I'm also more practical in mindset, whereas a lot of our Versa owners are more aesthetic thinkers.
