If I hadn't already bought non-refundable tickets for a trip this Summer, I would tell them to go pound sand. I'll not fly again unless it is a life or death emergency. F***ingidiotsbreathingmygoodgoddamnair.

Airline experts say more and more families are likely going to be split up on flights at the peak of the summer travel season because more airlines are reserving a growing number of window and aisle seats for business travelers. That means fewer rows available for families. ....

Really? I'm gonna book ahead and then you're just gonna bump me because some rich a$$ decides he wants my aisle seat? He can go pound sand too. :squint:

I went to Thailand with my 7 and 8 year old siblings.

I'd be happy to be sent to a completely different section of the plane.

On the way back from Qatar, we had this toddler seated on mom's lap two rows in front of us. It screamed and cried the whole trip (14 hours) except for a three-hour period that was deemed "nighttime" by the United staff. The staff moved several people around just so the family could all sit together, and in a leg-room seat row, too. FOR FREE, NO extra charges. Meanwhile, the rest of us had to make do in a three chair sardine can where you have to grab the seat in front of them to get up all the time. Do you know how pissed that made everyone in that area? This just proves that no matter where you are on the plane, a crying baby is bad news and no one wants to be anywhere near that BS.

I think they should charge extra for babies and toddlers, period. Call it a sanity tax or something and make them install a plexiglass sound-proof container around the little bastard.

I would pay stupid money to have a flight with no kids on board under the age of 8.

This is one reason why I'm not flying back to TN for my high school reunion. The ticket prices were bad enough on their own, without the stupid fees.

Flying sucks. Driving is amazing. The ONLY reason I ever fly anywhere is time restriction. Flying is faster. That is the single benefit.

ROFL.

Paying for air tickets to go to a high school reunion?!

I wouldn't go to a high school reunion if you paid ME the price of an airline ticket. What a spectacular waste of time. I already wasted three years on that s***. I'm not about to waste a perfectly good evening of my adult life on it. I can think of far more productive and enjoyable things to do, like pouring hydrogen peroxide in my eyes.

You can just ask whoever is already sitting there if they mind switching. Most people really don't care where they sit. I've moved plenty of times. Only raging douchebags would demand staying where they are.

Cheaper depending on the length of drive too. ALso depends if you have people to drag along on the drive because anything over 6 hours is torture for me.

Driving to Carlisle would cost us a third of what it costs to fly. MoD's right, IMO. Unless you HAVE to be there within a matter of hours, driving is better.

Wife and I went to St Thomas in April. The flight had been booked for two months by a corporate travel agency and we could not get seats for the second leg out. That morning at the airport they gave me a seat but not my wife. We got held at the gate until they finally gave her one. She got lucky and had a window seat.....while I was stuck in a center seat between two other large guys.

Flying is horrible and anywhere within a 6 hour radius I will drive.

LOL
I remember I got invites on FB for my highschool's reunion. I couldn't believe the friends I had (that hated being around our idiotic classmates just as much as I) wanted to go back to 'mingle' and were trying to convince me to come out too. HA! :spitout:
I couldn't be bothered.

I'll drive about 6 hrs in my uncomfortable car. Eventually I'll do a cross-country drive to the west coast but I've already used up too much vacation time already. :P
