Another Question on headlight switch

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Okay, I have another question on my daughter's 1996 Sentra. (She's gonna kill me) Looks like the low beam headlights don't come on but when I push the stalk forward the high beams will come on. Is it probably the turn signal / headlight switch is what I need ( Nissan P/N 25540 ?) Can I just change that without the combination switch assy ?

I'm still learning the Nissan terms but my main question is can I just remove the light switch without removing the steering wheel ?

From what I'm seeing on the FSM, the steering wheel must be removed.

Instructions are here if you wish to do it yourself:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Sentra/1996/EL.pdf

Click on "Combination Switch" tab to the left and read on through "Headlamp."

Good luck!

Good file. Actually on page EL-43 it says each seperate switch can be replaced without replacing the center base switch, but no one sells them seperately for this model year !! I may have to buy the whole switch to get the left side switch

Anyone have access to a Nissan dealer parts list to see if they offer the turn signal / light switch seperately. My local dealer only found the combination switch. If I had the P/N I could go to the local delaer to get one.
