another question about the QX

i think you can check the label in the drivers side door by the lock thing it should most definatly say your year when it was made

Pretty much if it was made after 12/98 you have the 1999.5 model. Previous to 12/98 you have the 1999 model

so it's just assumed that its a 99.5 then? or does it actually say it somewhere. The production date on mine is 2/99

Can someone tell from the VIN? If you enter the VIN in CARFAX, it might give you the correct year.

There are subtle differences from 99 to 99.5 so subtle that you really can't tell unless you are familiar with your QX and sit in an earlier one (or vice versa)

like the text on the gauge cluster is in a different font and the redline on the tach is dotted (99) vs. solid (99.5) headlights - dark housing (99) vs mirror housing (99.5)

4x4 on a shift knob and switch (99) vs just a switch and a large third cupholder (99.5)

and other differences that I am probably forgetting or dont know about. I also noticed on a 97 QX4 at the junkyard that the cargo cover is different, not sure what year this changed though.
