Did you get to look at the black 98 model in NLR that has been on Craigs list forever?

I've made a couple of attempts without success. I've kind of given up on that one..

Before I forget --

Wes (elwesso) posted a documentary on how to transform a passenger seat to become a driver seat.

I can't remember if the 94 a model in SWLR had a good passenger seat, I know the driver sear was heavily worn as I recall.

Here's the article. It should be easier to find a good passenger seat.

nYou remark about no leather pieces being replaced by vinyl is inaccurate. I've owned both 94 and 96 models concurrently. The 96's door panels and arm rests are NOT leather. Furthermore the exterior door handles on the 96 are plastic instead of metal as they were on previous model years.

Dealers did add 15" Fittipaldi mesh wheels to jack up prices on the showroom floor, but these wheels were originally part of the Touring Package.

That said ODBII seems easier to smog as my 94 will only pass if well warmed up (w/similar miles as our 96).

Door panels were NEVER genuine leather on any of the Q......all used a synthetic product to simulate leather,1994 model included.

A magnet sticks to my 1996 door handles.....maybe yours have been replaced with an aftermarket generic part as part of a previous collision repair?

The Fitipaldi wheels WERE NEVER a part of the touring package, but BBS wheels were, and were installed on the assembly line in Japan.

just because ONE example of 1996 Q is "easier" to pass smog than ONE example of a 1994 model does not lead to ANY conclusion regarding obd2 vs obd1 and their differences in passing smog tests..........way to small of a test group to draw any meaningful conclusion and issue blanket statements

I do agree with the sentiments about the door panels though.. If you look a lot of 95 and 96 models have wear spots near the window, where 94s dont. You can physically tell by feeling them. Same with the seats, I cant really explain it.. Its almost like the color was sprayed on, and after a while it flakes off.
