Hey guys, new to the forums!

I've searched and read through a bunch of PS threads and it helped but can't fix this last problem.

The previous owner removed power steering and I wanted it back. He gave me all the parts removed and I was pretty successful with putting it together.

Heres a rundown:He removed the power steering lines and looped the pipes on the steering rack. He did not remove the power steering pump from the belt, it was still running off the belt with no connections. I reconnected the hoses and everything, put some ATF in the resevoir and it started up well, power steering works.

Now, the problem is that when I go above a certain RPM, the car jerks. It idles fine, and low revs are fine. But when I go above approx. 2500 rpm, it starts to jerk, the same way it would if I were about to stall. It does this in reverse and any forward gear. I tried tightening the belt in case it was slipping, but it didn't change anything. I flushed the fluid as well.

Is the power steering pump bad? Is the belt not tight enough? I'm out of ideas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

check the mas air flow wires. the sensor for the power steering is on the same wire bundle as the mas. when the mas is bad or wiring is screwed up it won't let u go past 2500. so look at those wires first, see if u accidently cut any or unplugged it halfway.

Well my tach is broken so approx 2500. Seems my MAF sensor wires were torn. Probably carelessness, works fine now. Thanks guys!
