Folks,

I am in the process of giving it DIY shot at this. I am all geared up to try my first repairs on the pathfinder. Yes, I am a little nervous but after going through the following thread:

zer...age=1

I am all pumped up that I can do it.

The dealer near my place gave me a quote for $540 to change both Bank 1 and Bank2 timing sensors. I called him and got the part number and error code - verified it with the details provided by NISTECH ( including the site suggested by him for parts). This whole thing Bank1 and 2 can be fixed in under $125. This would have been a rip off had my wofe and I not stumbled upon this forum - Thank you all.

Now for the actual question. The tech i talked to at nissan said they need to do a base idle reset and some other idle reset - not sure what those are - any one out there know what the tech was referring to and if that needs to be done once the new sensors are put in.

Sorry, I am total amateur and I wanted to check if there were any step by step procedures to change the sensors ( P1140 for dummies I suppose ). Should I be disconnecting the battery before this job is performed?

Thanks all in advance for your replies.

-Sri

sorry you didnt get any replies for now...

Dont be nervous, jsut go in there and do it. They should be pretty easy to fix just get in there and do it. you may need to reset the idle, i wouldnt worry about it right away, if you need to take it to the dealer they should do it pretty easy.
