Another one over heating

Ok, I have a 93 240sx powered by a ka24de it has been sitting for a while(5 months) and ran fine until I parked it. I sold my truck and now it is my daily driver. I got it inspected today came home it is running fine then i went to leave and saw some coolant on the driveway, after looking over the car it appers to have come out the over flow bottle where it is cracked. So i thought nothing of it and went out after a few miles it got hot(fast) so i headed for home. If i run it up the temp drops but when i go back to just cruisin it goes back up. I got home and popped the hood and saw nothing abnormal, waited a little and checked under the car saw some coolant on the right side then i looked in the engine bay again it appears to be coming from the overflow tank wich i found to be very full all of a sudden. I replaced the head gasket and water pump about 6000 miles ago due to a coolant leak i was chasing that turned out to be the weep hole in the water pump leaking. I was thinking it might be the rad cap or thermostat. What are your thoughts? I have to fix her on sunday cause I have to drive her to work monday.

have you taken the rad cap off and checked how much coolant is in the rad when cold? you could just be low on coolant from it leaking out the crack in reservoir bottle

I replaced the rad cap and thermostat today, and then bleed the cooling system accordingly. 45 miles later so far so good.
