Well boys, I just pulled the trigger on a 2016 Mercedes 550e and will be packaging up my 1997 Q45t for sale. This Benz is completely loaded, limo rear seats, lane keep assist, night vision, heated and cooled seats all the way around etc. Plus plug-in hybrid for 24-30 MPG.

I am going to post up in the FS section, if there are any NICO folks out there my 97' has been loved since 2000 when I aquired it. I haven't done the valve cover gasget or coil packs, but my mechanic has told me that all of the above are fine. The car rides in 1 year old 19" rims with Michelin Pilot Sports, B/C Coilovers with about 15k on them, Pioneer streaming radio with bluetooth/handsfree, new alternator (Sept 2018), steering rack (replaced about 15k ago), and newer brakes all around. The car has been run on sythetic oil (Amsoil last 7 years) and always changes on regular basis.

Email me if your interested and I can send pics. I am on the fence on price at this point, the only issue is that when I bought the car in 2000 it was a California Lemon Law buy-back due to issues with the front brakes, which was fixed obviously.

[email protected] has been a great 19 years here and I will of course still be on the Z forum and lurk here a little bit !!

I know, I will miss the old girl, wish I had a place to park it as the $$ I will get will probably pay tax and license on the newer ride.

Congratulations on the new luxury cruiser.

I went the other way to BMW 335is as I seldom carried 3 passengers and desperately wanted to eliminate mass for more agile dynamic behavior. Do enjoy the newer amenities, DCT, power and handling and better fuel economy. Still respect the build quality of the first two generations HG50 and FGY33 Q45. They are still sweet cars with over built V8 that will go for miles in 100K increments. I doubt Nissan will ever be run by the engineers again.

It is now sold to a good home, the MB is big but for the ride to work on crap roads in the Bay Area really like the power, getting 35 MPG with charged battery and the full toy chest is nice. I often take the full heated message on the way to work!

I will lurk here for sure!

The Infiniti Q45 favors the Mercedes Benzes of its time. Looks around salvage yards comparing the V engine, they are almost identically. Certainly was the Japanese Mercedes. So its only natural to want to “upgrade” to one or the other.

I however have a slight aversion to Mercedes and BMW. Too many a$$ guys drive those to appear more powerful and important than they really are...but many a BMW and Mercedes driver is broke lol. Gives the brand a bad name lol. Plus those aren’t cheap to fix. 2016 fortunately is fairly new for a Benz. You can buy a 20 year old Nissan/Infiniti and be okay...and BMW or Benz, that’s going to get pricy.

However, if you just happen to appreciate that brand and engine, It’s not conceited. People think I have lots of money when they see me in the Q (including police, state troopers, narxotics units...been pulled over numerous times by all 3). But in reality, I scrapped the car up for $1,000 and went thru hell and high water to get it to the road trip warrior that it is now (just completed a 2,500 mile round trip to California and back, only a quart of oil burnt)
