This is mostly about the transmission Fluid. I've decided to go with Mobil synth in the engine. I dont think there is an advantage to be had with AMSOIL or royal purple in a street car. Am I wrong here? Plan on changing every 5k with filter.

My main concern is with the transmission, being an 03, you all know the issues. I need an oil to help the synchros last longer. I read AZHITMAN recomend Redline MTL 70w-80 and 75w-90, 2 quarts of each. And to use GL4 and NOT GL5 fluid. Opinions on this? Anyother recomendations on the synchro issue on this transmission? I also read (I searched) that a new clutch helps the transmission last longer. How does a clutch help with the issue? Is the clutch to blame for this transmission getting a bad rap?

To me, shifting this car feels almost as if the clutch is not engaging enough, thats how it feels anyway compared to a 240 or other manaul. The shift to second is the worst (notchy) so I'm a regular skip shifter, 1st to 3rd all day long, rarely use 2nd.

Thanks guys.
