A little history...I bought a 91 240 off a friend for 800 bucks. Problems up to now have been obvious and easy to repair. I removed my valve cover and was cleaning my cam lobes (unrelated problem) and the day after, it stated burning oil. This car is stock and my buddy told me he had engin work done on it about 20-30 K ago. I can tell its oil for sure because my oil dropped to a third from when i worked on it until i noticed the problem. Any body help me out with the cause or how to fix it that would be great.

Check your spark plugs for oil.

Nice..there was oil all over them all. Now whats the fix? Wouldnt the oil have burn off within a quick period of time if it was just some that got in there while I had the cover off? They were blacked, is this also because of the oil? Or is the air/fuel mixture off?

I talked to my step father and he said that a bad PCV valve may have caused my sudden oil burning and need attention. Where is it located?
