When started my car up this morning I heard a weird clacking sound coming from the engine. It is hard to describe, it reminded me of an old tractor. It was a rhythmic clicking at idle and became faster at higher rpms, it was pretty loud cause I heard it over the radio. I think it was coming from the valvetrain, but I had no time to check it out. When I started the car up a few hours later the sound was gone. Does anyone know what the heck that was? TIA.

I already have the timing chain problem, this sound was in addition to that. However, it might be something else to do with the timing chain now that I think about it, maybe a gunked tensioner? The last time i heard anything similar was when my dirtbike's cam wore its mounts out and was bouncing around. It sounded like if you tapped an empty coke can with a key or something.
