TLDR is below the whole story is long.
Whole story: I was driving my car yesterday getting groceries. I made several stops at the first stop I had to hit the start button 3-4 times before it started. Second stop I pressed the button to many times to count but took about 5 mins. I had one last stop I was debating it and stopped anyway. Third stop I had to press the button for about 15 mins over and over until it started. I drove home and now it won’t start at all.

TLDR: No crank no start really confused.

What I have researched/know:
When I press the button I can cycle through acc and on and press brake and push the button doesn’t start.

I do have a yellow key light. From my research if it’s the steering lock I wouldn’t be able to cycle or attempt to start.

The press brake to start logo on the dash doesn’t go away. Research says brake switch but my brake lights work and removed the switch and tested with multimeter functioning correctly.

When I try to start it there is a clicking sound briefly in the engine bay possibly starter.
I know the starter works because if I apply 12v to the signal wire the starter spins.
When I check the starter signal wire when hitting there start button it doesn’t have any power going to it.

I removed the starter relay and tested each pin not getting any voltage from the ignition switch side no ground on the other side and only getting 1.2-1.8v from the battery pin

I have confirmed good battery. Even tried a new battery.

I can get the car to start and run if I put it to on and short the starter.

Check your brake lights when it misbehaves, not diagnostically. Those switches die from crappy contacts, and ohming them tells you nothing about whether you're on a good or bad spot on the contact. It's pretty much normal for a failing one to work one minute and not the next.

My brake lights are coming on while brake is pressed and trying to start. However I see that there are 4 pins on on the brake switch to not sure if 2 for brake light and 2 for ignition or something. I ordered a new switch should be here in a couple days and I’ll try it and let you know. Thank you for the information.

Well got the brake switch in today and it still isn’t working. Any other suggestions? This is my only vehicle and I need it running haha

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner, I guess I missed it when you posted. Steering locks can do some weird stuff and Nissan frankly didn't document them very well. They really only "kill" the car when they stick internally with one limit switch on and one off. If that's the issue there will be codes in the BCM, but you'll need a scanner that can read the BCM. There's a Steering Lock Relay inside the IPDM that can also screw things up, so you might just try a used IPDM. They're plug-and-play, just make sure it's the right part number.
