another newbie question

that compass on my new 06 6spd sedan isnt working there are just three dashes (---) that it it will turn on and off but when it is on all i get is the there dashes

anyway to fix it thanks

I had a similar problem not long ago. The compass was way off direction and then the next day it didn't work at all. Eventually it just came back on and has been fine ever since. I didn't do anything to it, it just sort of fixed itself after sitting for a couple of days. This probably isn't typical.

I would take it in to the dealer since the car is still under warranty.

I had a similar situation on my '05 coupe when I bought it. It just means that the compass hasn't calibrated itself yet -- either drive in alternating circles for a half hour or you could just wait...it'll calibrate itself while you drive around.

FYI -- that usually occurs on cars that haven't been test drivin much at all. This is a good sign!!!

they are supposed to do that when they pdi it...but what he said...you have to drive it in really slow circles until it calibrates itself
