A hello to all!

Had my new Versa a little over 3 weeks now. Put 2K on it and I love it. I was in the market for a Civic or Corolla but tried the Versa. I was sold.

As for the beast, it is a Magnetic Grey S with Auto. It also has the usual flaps and mats (but what Versa doesn't?). Also has power package, ABS, cruise, roof spoiler and kick plates. Only thing I have done to it is get the windows tinted (35% for those who want to know). I did look at the SL, but really couldn't see anything I really wanted for the extra money, especially as I intend to put in my own stereo.

Kinda wish sometimes I had gotten the manual, but I mainly got the auto for resale in Houston( not to mention stop start traffic on highway 290). Originally being from the U.K., I grew up with manuals. Maybe the next one!

The only gripe I have about the car (and it is a small one) is that the rear parcel shelf seems a little shabby. It keeps coming off it's little pegs and drives me batty. I DO like the little cloth flaps to close the gap between the shelf and the seats, that a nice touch. The rest of the interior seems so up there in quality but it is let down by a rather flimsy shelf. I have had many, many hatchbacks in the past and never had the shelf detach without me wanting it to so easily before.

Is this a common problem? Any tips, or is it just the way it is?

Other than that, you just can't knock it. Excellent value for money. Even that aside, it really is a great car.

Welcome aboard, glad you're enjoying your Versa...

...as for the rear parcel shelf, we've never had ours detach. Snapping it down on to the little nubs takes quite a bit of pressure, and it stays secure without issue. Perhaps yours has a manufacturing defect? I can't say that I've heard anyone else have the same complaint - but who knows, maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

Welcome to NICO!

I'm in the same boat as Rockhound, I've never been able to jar the package shelf loose without some serious intentional force being exerted on it.

Yay to the new Versa!!

Try removing and putting the shelf back on... if that doesn't work, I'd run it by the dealer and see if they'll try another shelf. It should stay. Both of my Camel's had no problem with the shelf.
