Hello everybody. My name is Lee. I live up in Maine. Thats up by Canada eh!! lol
I dont have an Altima....yet but did have some questions and thoughts.
I currently have (as a daily driver) a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer ES with a five speed. Has aggresive looks but not the oomph to match it. Mileage is good; I get higher than the rated MPG numbers. To me, it is just a car and am only "content" with it. Is sad that a Civic can take me..lol I am looking for something with more performance, a bigger grin factor and am willing to sacrifice some mileage.
I have always liked the looks of the Altima and have been doing alot of research over the past 6-7 months or so.
It will be a V6 model with the six speed, sedan.
They are very rare to fine, especially in my area.
I will be driving down to go look at one next week. It is an 08 model, frost white, sedan, V6 and six speed with the "sport" package. Has 6000 miles on it. They are asking $22, 000 for it. Is about 90% what I am looking for. The color isnt my first choice...but like I said, I want to go and take a look at it.
I have heard great things about this motor! Reliability being tops! Awesome. Maine has all kinds of weather. Snow here is pretty significant. I have a older truck for the worst of it. I am meticulous (spelling) about taking care of my cars (I have a 96 Z28SS that is showroom clean). How are these cars in the winter? Do the majority of you all use synthetics and what weight? Any known trouble issues? How would the ride be compared to a Lancer? The one thing the Lancer has for it is that it handles pretty darn good, even surprised me at times. Put some good rubber on it and what a difference it makes. I know the Altima I will be looking at has some Bridgestones on it...heard those arent the best for this car....
I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions. I am excited about looking at this car and probably, being the kid at heart that I am...driving it home the same day!
Oh, one other thing, does the Frost White color have any metallic in it? The interior is gray.
Thanks all.
I shall be posting again soo.
