so i just got an 03 m45 graphite/graphite with 30,800 miles on it today for $21500. i think it was a solid deal since mt 04 acura tsx i traded in had 58000 miles on it and no warrenty left, while the m45 still had warrenty til november.

love the car but just had a few questions.

1. has anyone replaced the cassettte with either a flip open navigation or a flat mounted one??(i had nav on the tsx and cant live without it)

2. has anyone had any luck finding any intakes or exausts for this beast. i know its fast enough, i just want to hear a little more of the engine. thanks

3. does only the driver mirror tilt down in reverse??

4. why does the shift knob not match?

Hi. Ijust became a M45 owner. An '03 for similar price but about 37K on it. I too am trying to figure out how to a nav system in. I have a pioneer D1 that I took out of my '97Q45. It should fit, I just don't know about the wiring. I've seen pics of mods people have done removing the cassette, and putting a aftermarket in but don't know how to do it. search aroung and you should see a couple. I'll let you if I find anything.

Welcome both of you!!! To answer your questions:

1. There has been a couple M45's that have replaced the cassette witha flip out screen...usually a professional modification...not a perfect fit. Maybe a good stereo shop could help tackle that for you?

2 Only exhaust...either from Japan or someone has home-made exhaust by a muffler guy...but no US mass produced

3. Driver mirror does not tilt down

4. Maybe shift knob has faded , mine has also...i am waiting to find one on Ebay cheap enough...i might go with the black leather one...so maybe it wont fade

I also traded a TSX for the M45...i couldn't stand the performance....man that thing was ultra slow....like i was getting smoked by minivans...no for real

There is no exhaust for the M45. The same body styled car in Japan have V6s, of course anything can be done with modification but you are better off doing a custom job to suit your fancy. It is common for the wood knob to change color due to sweat and moisture from your hand. You will love the car more and more every time you drive it!Cheers

mirrors should tilt down in revers for parking assistance save your rims. it will work in both sides you just need to change the position on the mirrors adjusting switch. if you park on left , turn it to the left. it works for me, i love it.as far as knob you can find the right stain and stain it, its easy.

I agree both of my mirrors do tilt, the book tells how to set up.

Every M with the wood knob I've seen has faded. I got a brand new on ebay for $61 delievered.

my know was fadded(sp) and cracked so my first upgrade was a new one from the dealer for approx $190 ouch!!! and yes, move the mirror switch above your left knee and depending on what side its on the mirror will tilt.

the nex one

old one next to the new one - see how the old one has a yellow/greeninsh stain on the top. That drove me crazy

I'm pretty close to finishing my project of replacing the cassette with a flat panel Navigation/video screen. I should have pics up this coming weekend. I'll start a new thread. So far, it is way better than I expected. You guys will like it.

Would love to see this!! I don't really use the cassette player much at all (probbly used it all of five or six times in over 3 years of owning the car), and another use for that spot would be quite nice.

This what I've decided to do as well. Definitly post pics when you get it done. Which NAV system are you using?

The cassette deck is still intact, I just stuffed it further back in the dash and up behind the clock.

The Nav unit I used is a Plenio vxa-3000. It has a 7" screen and aux input for a video game/dvd/backup cam. Cheap too. Check it out @ DVSsales.com or at Costco's website.
