Hey everybody, My Name is Damion, another DATSUN LOVER!

i picked up what i was told a 1980 datsun pickup truck, 5 speed. The odometer says 135k, for $300 bux.

I've been working on it since i got it, heres what it looked like when i picked it up :

The interior is in good shape, hardly any rust, few dents and dings, i just got it to run decent. When i got it it spat oil like it had a crack in the head lol. but later to find out it was just an old warn down oil filter.

I got it from a donation car lot, it was in the back under a tree. they wanted $575 i pitched them $300 and they bit. had a flat tire and all.

I've seen these in worse shape. take a look at the drivers side:

the little slip that came with it said leaks oil, needs front end work. i think it needs new bushings and a tie rod. and it needs a lug nut because its missing one.

good find or not?

I've got big plans for this rig.

oh and found out some retard painted this green with house paint? I see streaks and peels, not to mention the red under the hood and in door jams.

need tail lights tho...

Why is it that OR and WA have so many dattos?

Looks like a great start. Never seen a green one like that.

looks really straight for 300 bones and if the rust isnt too bad (remember datsuns of that era came with rust from the factory), sounds like a pretty good deal.. And it runs to boot!

Hopefully you gave it a good one over underneath in case of hidden rust. It's tricky that way. Otherwise good find, I like that color, never seen it before. I love those taillights too, wish they were like that on my truck. Good luck on your resto!

i looked, its pretty light frame rust. Its green because somebody took house paint to it, i'm planning on making it either matte black or gloss black.

yea, luck, i'll need it.

Because they are cheap dump runners!!There are more old Toyota pickups up here than old datsuns.

Down here the only thing that compares to the dattos are the old yotas. In between some have some Mazdas also.
