Nope its all here, the transmission, is in great shape, minus the fact that it could use a throwout bearing, but other than that the stick and play in the transmission is non existant. There is about 1mm of play when its in gear, and about 2-2 1/2 mm's of play in neutral.. its beefy as hell, and the wiring harness is in decent shape too.

I dont know what everyone else's opinion on Venus Auto is, thats where i got this unit, and where my friend got his RB20, and another friend got his RB20 as well as a few friends with SR's and they all got dirty, but once clean outstanding units.

I looked under the valve covers and looked at the cam lobes and there werent any markings whatsoever on any of the lobes so this motor is extremely healthy, even all the belts are in tact and not cracked or freyed.

I am glad you are happy with the purchase

I dont mean to bust your bubble, but no markings on cams does not necessarily mean the engine is healthy. Now do a compression and leakdown test! That will confirm if the engine is OK. Markings on the cam lobes mean that the bearings are gone, and the particles went through the whole engine. If the particles got there, that usually means that the crank, rods, pistons, head, and cams are all messed up.

I got my first RB20 from Venus... great motor and still runs fine. Trans was bad but they replaced it without any trouble... that project is gone but the motor gave no problems to the new owner as well.

Welcome... enjoy

i just got my rb25det from venus last month. you might want to check your pilot bushing and make sure you have a manual bushing. mine wast an automatic sent with a 5 speed transmission, and they just slapped a flywheel and clutch on, and i had to hand remove the automatic pilot bushing

Take pics.Jon

Got a long block from venus last week, didn't have any pilot bearing, and i think it was out of a auto too. Luckily i had one left over from an act clutch.

Im not sure if i stated it because im to lazy to look back, but the only thing the transmission needs is a throwout bearing. Other than that, its solid

i did some cleaning on the cross over pipe and BOV, ill start taking before and after pics for you guys so you can see what i can put into my work.

//edit//

Cleaning, Day 1Heres the from the day i got it, you can look closely and see how dirty the crossover pipe, bov, and MAF is.

And here is about an hours worth of effort on and off at work today, i have lots spare time, steel wool and sand paper, as well as lots of other tools lol.

I dont let a spec of dirt or grime get away from me on my engines that go into the cars i own.

This is out of an R33, so how would the R32 tach work?

I got the motor torn down alot tonight, and noticed the turbo was a ball bearing turbo, and i was excited about that, also when i took off the pressure plate, the clutch and everything was brand ****in new, there wasnt even any discoloration from heat on the plate or clutch disk themselves. It was awesome. Got a bunch of stuff off it tonight.

Something else i noticed, which can anyone answer me this question, when i took the intake pipe off, there was some oil that came out, not Alot, but maybe like a half a hand full's worth of oil poured out, and then about just a little sitting at the bottom of the compressor housing, and some oil on the exhuast housing blade, i spun the blade and it spun for about 2-3 seconds without any resistance, and had no shaft play up/down or front to back. Is this residual oil or small amount of oil normal when it has been shipped like this?

Here are some pictures..... ill load up here in a second.

Heres a picture of the comp and exh housing and the parts i pulled off tonight and are going to clean/repaint

looking good, i should probably do some cleaning on my pipes too.

i wouldnt worry too much about the oil. if it was run without an oil catch can, some oil in the intake tract will be normal.

That turbo looks like it may have had it's ceramic wheel replaced with a metal wheel. Can you take a picture of the turbine wheel straight on?

How much did you pay for the engine set from Venus? Im thinking about getting my engine set from them or Jazzproparts.com.
