I just completed a Motor swap and was excited to hear the engine roar. All i heard was a loud bang similar to a gun shot. I have major backfire problems but dont know where i can start looking for problems, since these cars are fuel injected. It does not idle i have to give it some gas to keep it alive then after it dies, it gives off one loud backfire. Wher should i start looking?

timing, if it's backfiring it's sending unburtn fuel into the exhaust or firing with the exhaust valves open, either the timing belt is nto on correctly ot the cas simpy needs to be adjusted

We got rid of the backfiring but it still stalls out. We got it to run good but we were thinking that its maybe a vacum leak or the timing. It sounds like crap from 0-2500 RPM but when it hits 3000RPM the sound changes dramaticly from bad to good. Any distictive symptoms between a vacum leak and timing? It stalls out so im thinking timing. Should be 15 degrees right?

i was also curios about some connections. I did all the connections on the fuel injectors and coils and was wondering what the car could would do if i connected one wrong? I was wondering if this could also contribute to my problem of stalling misconnections
