Yes, ladies and gentlemen, seems I have a target on my back. I just purchased my 09 M in Sept last year because my 07 M was destroyed by a drunk driver. That original 07 M was also purchased because my Escalade was destroyed by ... wait for it ... a drunk driver. Now my 09 M has also been hit. Not by a drunk driver, just a rather stupid one. I was driving along the motorway and, even though I was in the lane to his right, he decided to use that lane anyway, striking my rear quarter panel. My car was slightly ahead of his as you can see because of where his front fender hit me. How he did not see this huge white car, next to him in complete daylight, is a mystery to me.

Luckily he had insurance and the car will be repaired. I'm hoping it will not involve too much body work or body filler, but he did make a sharp crease along the upper wheel well so I'm not sure what that will require. Could be worse though. He was driving a Porsche Panamera and as gopping as that car already looked, his now looks even more goppingly ugly with a smashed front corner.

Wow Larz... So sorry to hear this news AGAIN! Seems like you just might have a target on your back. Luckily he didn't continue with his movement and actually pit you. That woulda been no bueno on a busy highway!

Make sure you let the body shop know that your Sarona roof spoiler and deck lid spoiler were both knocked off in the accident... :naughty:

That is tough Larz - I'm glad you're ok. My wife was hit three different times over an eight year period at the same exit from I-5 in Vancouver Washington, twice by drunk drivers. She had bad back pain from the second one and when another drunk rear-ended her at the same exit, she was very upset and worried about her back, which had never fully healed. The ED doc told her to not worry, too much as the thought it hadn't made it worse. Funny thing - her back got completely better in just a couple of weeks. Something about the way she was hit.

Kmiles: Glad to hear your wife is OK. That is the only part of an accident that can't be replaced.

Ilya: LOL @ pit maneuver. Lucky for me it didn't scratch my new wheels ! His car being a crap one, he just bounced off of my exquisite sedan, LOL.

Sergio: Yes there are plenty of pillocks driving on the road, including this one who bought one of the ugliest sedans ever made. I'm rather pleased that I helped it look even more ugly after hitting me, LOL.

Hey Larz, hope you're ok and sorry about your new M.
Mine got hit similar like yours, rear passenger quarter panel, rear bumper and both door slightly. Estimated cost 7K, will stop by body shop today to check on it.
Good luck to you, hope everything goes well.

Oddly enough, white cars are more dangerous to ride in. Many people's brains filter out whites during times of bright sunlight so people sometimes truly cant see cars because their brain has filtered it out. It takes a second or third glance to finally realize "oh there is a car there". Sounds weird but it happens to a lot of people, myself included. That is why I always look twice before I ever change lanes.

Mr Wang (sounds like a p0rn star or a James Bond villain): I hope your car comes back and is even more brilliant than before the accident. Odd how your car and mine sustained the same area of damage just opposite sides of the car. My car is getting estimated on Tuesday next week.

Mr CPJ: As for driving a tank for safety ... The accident that lead me to Infiniti and this forum was an Escalade ESV (long version) and it was T-boned by a drunk-driven F-350 who flew through a red light. That Escalade was also white !

Everyone else: Thank you for your concern and well wishes. Much appreciated !
