Hey folks, I have recently gotten some emails about doing another run of kickplates for the Altima Coupe and 4th Gen Altima Sedan. I have created a new thread in the fabricator's market with information on prices, options, etc. Please go here

illuminated-kickplates-for-altima-coupe ... 59158.html

if interested. I believe discussion here is ok, moderators, apologies if that is not.

And folks, sorry for the absence, I was going to do these last year, but school had other plans. I now have a little bit of free time before I start residency.

This. Seriously. When I had the coupe is was easily the best visual mod on it. It really makes the car look classy. Money was tight for me too when I splurged, and I didn't regret it at all. Get 'em now as Doc is apparently too busy to be pumping sets out every month.

Doc, glad to see you around again!

And when are you going to run these for the Titan?

Thanks guys, I've been lurking here and there... just too busy to post much... I've been getting emails here and there with requests for these, but the initial startup with the materials costs too much to just do one set.

Its worth it if you're car is a show car since you'll be leaving your doors open. Otherwise, no offense, but its totally not worth it in price being that the longest your doors are ever going to be open are no longer than 7 seconds when you and someone are getting in and out of the car.

Yeah, I know. I wouldn't really be interested for the truck. They'd get beat to hell to easily...

To each their own I guess. I still say it looks damn good and worth every penny. I've seen way more mods on cars in this section that cost nearly as much and are worth nothing of value.

I'm trying to think what mods that aren't visual that dont serve a purpose. Like? And please dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to crap on this thread here because those kick plates really are sick looking and if I had money to buy or had a show car, believe me, I would love to get my hands on them.

I was referring to visual mods. Tinted headlights/tails come to mind (though, admittedly, they are cheaper than this). I could also make the case that dark window tint would fall into this category. And spoilers. Just a few thoughts.

Illuminated kicks are typically around this cost (if not more) when it is a dealer-provided option. The benefit with these is easy install and removal. Assuming the owner doesn't abuse them when getting in/out of the car, they can easily be resold and will retain a good deal of value. Given that Doc hasn't made tons of these, there are always people looking for them and their rarity garners them a nice price tag. Also, these can typically be found on what most would consider "luxury" brands. So popping these on the A/C gives it a bit more of a luxury look (hence the value for people with daily drivers and not show cars).

I will agree with you, on a show car these would be a must! For the record, I wasn't trying to attack you for your opinion. Just expressing that while you think they aren't worth the price for non-show cars, I feel they certainly are.

@Applebonker, thanks for the support. I agree with everything you said.

@mikethemike - I understand and respect your opinion. But, just for historical perspective:

I was one of the original NICO members and was on the forum when EVERYTHING was being conceptualized for the A/C. Me and some of the other guys prototyped many of the mods available for the A/C (Eibach springs, Stillen and racingline strut tower brace, Stillen body kit, Stillen front splitter), and the list goes on. As far as the kickplates go, I wanted something similar to the G37 illuminated kickplates that were available from the factory, but not available for the A/C. I initially came up with the idea, found some vendors for parts, and created one for myself. Guys on the forum really loved them, and I started doing group buys for them. To date, I've sold about 35 - 40 sets. This makes them very rare and worth more. Also, I personally hand make each kit, so above the price of the parts themselves is my labor time (and my time is valuable ;)

but in the end, they are for the A/C enthusiast that wants a little something different, something that you can't go to pep boys or your local shop and have done.

Amen to that. Thats great you managed to sell that much and I hope the sales keep going well with you. Maybe it is just me then haha. With that said, I would've loved a pair of these plates. =)

You know, now that I look at the pricing, I suppose it really isn't all THAT much, considering you'd be willing to provide the kick plates as well. :)

Hey Doc! Hope you didn't forget about me. Let me know the best way to get in touch with you.

As far as the kick plates go, they are awesome! One of the few mods I did just for looks and never regretted them. I still get comments on them from family members that have seen them for years now. They're just that cool.

What's up everyone? New to the forum and have been slowly moding the whip. I am def interested in some of these. I have a question tho. What if u wanted to just change the writing on the kick plate? No lights to illuminate them.

Money sent. Doc provides kick plates. Carbon Fiber. Blue illumination. ALTIMA lettering.

Can't wait to install these bad boys. They only reason I'm not sending you my kick plates is they driver side is super scuffed. Not sure how I scuffed them.

PM sent with shipping information. Sorry I didn't include it in the paypal.

I think there are cheaper ways to do it than to buy my kickplates... the lights are actually the least expensive part of the entire build!
