i believe its lifter tick, the timing chain and cover are pretty new, and the tick is consistent with the lifter i can see through the oil filler hole. i had taken the valve cover off and all the lifters bits seemed to be in place and not siezed. but my biggest concern is the sudden power loss, the ticking started first slowly, became a little more common, but always stopped once i warmed up, but now at times it ticks the whole drive, sometimes almost a knocking noise that sounds like its coming from under the engine? the idle is a little more erratic than it was before, but only sometimes, other than that its still.
the power loss is really noticeable, but no smoke anywear, no oil leaks, all fluids are good, although my oil might be a little high from what i read, its at the H marking, the only major event thats happened around the time the ticking started was when i bottomed out on a trench on highway152, the ticking had already been there but was quiet, but wasnt any power loss till after that, and im going to sound like a dumbass right now, but lately theres been like a really low tone whistling noise on acceleraiton and decel, just for a few seconds, idk wasnt happening before either.
im sorry, this has become a long post, im just worried about my redheaded stepchild. my other car is a rotary, you just add more oil lol
is there anything i should look for that i havnt? and how exactly should i check the lifters to see if they need cleaned, fixed, or replaced? i had just visually inspected them
but my main concern is the power loss, i havnt read any other threads that reported power loss with the ticking, and they started pretty close to eachother so i assume theyre related
oh man, i had originally just wanted to ask a small question, id really appreciate any help or just a direction to look in, if youve read this far<3
edit: its a ka24e btw,
