ok so heres the deal:im on my 2nd 90 240sx (first one had alot of body rot) and again a water leak in the trunki searched and found the "fixing leaky trunk" thread, read it and did what it said and still leaking

its not coming from the taillights, it looks like its coming from either the trunk seal think (black rubber seal thing along outside of whole trunk) or the rubber gromet that holds the rear defrost wiring (its a hatchback)

im gonna end up replacing both anyways but i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and how they solved it.

Its most likely coming from rusting under the spoiler. It is a very common problem on the 240sx hatchbacks. Water gets trapped under the spoiler and sits. And after a while it starts to rust. Just lift up your spoiler a little and you'll see what I'm talking about.

actually its coming from higher up on the car, reason i know is because the other morning on my way to work i was backing outta the driveway and i was turned around looking out the back window to back up and i noticed water coming out of the rear seatbelt plastic cover (the one on the roof/ next to rear side window) and i noticed the water dripping from the body panel hole into the plastic seatbelt cover. since water cant travel up an incline it leads me to believe its coming from the groumet or trunk sealon a second note also its only on my pass side, not on driver side at all so i know it has to be somewhere on the pass side incline or else the water would travel over to the driver side too

You're just starting to confuse me. Just check your seals around the whole hatch, check to see if any are cracked or broken. Thats all I can thin to tell you.

yea today im gonna take out the plastic interior on the pass side around the hatch area to see if i can get anymore clues to the problem but i believe im going to buy a new trunk seal and put some type of waterproof sealer in the rubber bushing thing that holds the wires for the rear defrost. when i do ill let you know]

Same here....I thought it was my weather stripping because I have a slit on small part of it. It could be something else though. I love my S13!
