My engine is now another to add too the list. Got a spun rod bearing..Sounds like it's on #3. After 2 weeks of working on it finially getting all the small things done...this happens. Don't know if happened before it got parked or if it happened today. I installed my 555 tomei injectors and #2 & #3 had bad orings. I started my car up and did a 5minute drive trying to tune it. Thinking it was just too much fuel and trying to take away on my SAFC. Checked injectors and rings where bad.Decided to drop in my sr 370's being no need for the 555's at the current time. Car wouldn't start due to gas being in the cylinder. Pulled plugs and got gas out.Changed oil.Car started right up. but now I got rod knock.....Trying to decide what to do. I might be able to get the bearings replaced for relatively cheap, but don't know if the rings on #2,3 are messed up due to the gas. I'm already buying another KA in about a month, but it was for the vert...Don't really need the engine built being my goal is only 300rwhp... Just trying to decide.I was just starting to gather pieces for my Vg swap....Was about to order coilovers, and some rims....

geeus..im gonna start reading the dang sr forums....

But for real.. buy that 110K motor, throw it in there, and rebuild the old motor. Depending on how much the 110k motor is, you'll have you car back in a day or two, and you'll have an extra motor to rebuild to hold that 300 whp and anymore you could possibly want.

The stock engine will hold the 300whp.

I'd put money that boost didn't cause that rod knock.

I'm going to replace the bearing and see how it is. I only hit boost of 5 psi at 3500rpms. Was trying to tune and had too much fuel. 555's. Didn't know the orings were crushed/tore. I drove 5miles at about 2500rpms.I never heard the rod knock while i was driving. Heard it once I got home and swapped injectors to 370cc's. Replacing the bearing. If it don't work, yanking motor and getting built.

Wait..

5min drive.. my car usually takes at least 5min of easy driving to even get it warmed up enough to beat on.... You didn't try to tune before the temp gauge at least reached operating temp did you?

wow that sucks. There's been way to many ka-t's go kaboom lately, i think i might reconsider my ka-t plans and look towards a sr or rb swap instead. who knows. Good luck on whatever you do. I personnally would put in a temporary stock engine and rebuild yours then put your temp engine in teh vert when ur done with it.

I wasn't beating on it. Highest rpm it went up to was 3500rpm. When my idle A/F ratio is 9 and normal drivng is 10. I was just trying to set my cruising a/f ratio so my plugs wouldn't foul out.
