Remember that riced J30 I kept mentioning in different threads? Well, it is no longer around in my town. The guy wrecked it. How, I do not know. All I know is that it was totalled.

So, with that in mind, here's my question: are J30s REALLY that fragile? This is the 3rd wreck I've heard of involving a J (the other 2 was another one in my hometown, & Nala's). Is the RWD really THAT hard to control?

My last 2 cars were RWD, so I have SOMEWHAT of an idea on how to control one.

I'm just afraid of wrecking the J, but it will be seeing road courses (on the track, not the street racing thing). One of my cousins is letting me borrow his until I earn enough to buy my own (he just bought a M45) & I don't want to screw it up. Mint condition.

I know the J was built with a lot of crumple and crash absorbing engineering. Its one of the reasons why if you look at the IIHS crash mortality rates for that car, its very low.

The car was designed to sacrifice itself in order to save the lives of occupants.

Also, insurance companies look at the value of the car compared to the cost of repairs. If the repair cost exceeds the value of the car, then they total it. J30s aren't exactly high-value cars, so the damage threshold should be pretty low before the insurance company just decides to total it.

Yeah, so I had to give the J30 back to my cousin...he's getting married in a couple of months & his fiance just lost her car in a wreck, so he's giving her his J...crap.

I'm sure they'll treat it well. He's had that thing for quite a while now & he isn't into racing like me (hence its mint condition), so the J has a healthy future ahead of it. He already said that if kids come along, that the M45 will be used to transport them since the J has a small back seat & not child seat friendly.

I will say this, that J & its luxuriousness blew me out of the water. I actually started taking long ways to work just to enjoy the comfort.
