Another Honda vs Nissan Argument

Right a friend of mind who was looking throw one of his old import tunners and he seen the areospeed civic type R. His exact words were "they should've just brought it over here f* the bs then we will be number one like always..." blah blah blah then i go "you guys still will be seening our tail lights" he goes "what are you crazy the type R has 200hp" I respond "If the powers that be brought over the sivlia's then honda wouldn't even be on the map! If the slowest silvia (AND I USE THAT TERM LIGHTLY) was brought here it would wope your guys a$$es." Thats when he says "Yeah right the type R' s are the best imoport cars over here besides the 300zx, rx7, and supras." At this point I wanted to slap the piss out of him. So i Responded "look here bro, since you only know about honduh's, im a let you in on a secret, teh s13 has 205hp in that was in 1989-1994. It took you guys 8-14 years just to get to 200hp and that was only because you guys are running with the rsx type S power plant..." my friend "...if you go jdm to jdm the 2002 dc5 has 220hp Mr. 'Silvia' " So i say "yet again another 8-14 year time spand and since you want to take it there we got the infamous 255hp sexy Silvia S15 that everyone wants to be and you know im right because every single one of you guys that own an acura as soon as you ricers get the $ you instently go for the S15 headlight conversion or the integra type R headlight conversion and notice the Silvia S15 came first..." then he just went on and on about his "wonderful" civics at this point in time i just blocked him out...i don't know what to do, it's like a disease going around here in south Jersey "if you have any kind of civic and it has graphics, body kit, intake, muffler, and rims, your the fast thing in the world...!":help :help :help :help :help

Uhh news flash... 200hp Civic > 205hp Silvia ... its somethings called weight. Add free mods and we get our desired result of ...

Silvia + 10psi Boost > 200Hp Civic

So in essence... ANY Silvia can beat a civic type-r ... its as easy as removing the exhaust at the downpipe and modding the actuator with a washer to push 10 psi boost. I think even a CA18 powered Silvia could beat a Type-R.

Why the hell does everyone care about manufacturer so much?Most Nissan Sentra's are sluggish economy crap. Face it. Every maker has it's weak point. Honda makes the economy Civic, and the sports car NSX, so deal with it. You're just as bad for arguing your lame "Nissan pride" with him.

Don't get me wrong, I have Nissan pride as well, but I don't need to argue it. Only two of us in my crew drive Nissan's, but we still win alot of races. You'll get much farther in life if you learn to tear down borders.

Oh, and ps: I ride with an 88 civic that would make 95% of the members here into his biznatch. Deal with it.

i don't hang out w/ that people that drive civic's w/ rice crap done to them. there is only one civic in my crew right now, and its a '94 4door auto civic. he knows his car is slow and s***, so he's just gonna try and make it look better. i can respect that. if honda people know their cars suck, then its alot better. if they think its really fast cause they put a kit on it w/ an intake, that pisses me off. just let them be. when you race them and rape their a.ss, that'll be all the argument you need.

point taken but we also got the skylines...it maybe "lame pride", but if you live in a area like i do were everyone drives civics, neons, cameros, and mustangs, your pretty much all alone out here i have nothing against certain civics like and integras there are two kids in my auto class one drives a black si and the other drives a black gsr and i like both of thier cars...im just trying to enlighten him on nissan so that he stop walking around with his head up in the clouds b/c he drives a civic dx or ex...it's very annoying

to add on to your point, when me, my boy civic, his little brother and my boys 02' v6 eclipse were going to impoert eurasia, we had a rolling start race and of course my boy in the eclipse smoked us both but i did come in second beat'n the civic by at least two-three car lengths but that was when he didn't have nx now he does so i don't really know if i can still beat him...i think i can though becasue im getting the dohc motor which will give me more power when we battle before i had a sohc motor, so did he...

currently I own a 02 civic and it IS slow but it does not suck. Speed I like the 240 better but for style and relability I am happy with my civic.

Not very long... I've pulled two stock SR20s. Wasnt by much but I pulled them.

I am afraid that our beloved Nissan is going to head in the same direction the Honda craze went. Think about it. Fortunately for 240 owners, esp. the s14's, it is gonna increase our prices of cars since there are near to none of them, "respectfully compared to civics or ludes". I hope to god it dosen't come to that though.

wanna find out witch is faster? take it to a autocross track , handleing,brakeing, and acceleration ...i could strap some bottle rockets to a hamster and smoke you and that damned civic in a stight line , and a rocket propeled hamster wont kill a family in a minivan, just gross them out

I had a couple of friends that owned Type R Civics and yes I know you guys will probably "Be upset" However I tell it like it is/was The one was pretty fast he would beat stock for stock a Silvia/180sx. However A silvia only costs about $3,000 for a pretty much stock SR a Type R still costs close to $10,000. Spend that much on a Silvia see what will happen to that Type R now. I used to run with stock NSX's all I had was a Muffler Catalytic converter, Stock Clutch, Intake, SAFC and Boost up. Take that Honda.
