Alright guys,

I just bought 5000k X-light Hid Conversion Kit for my low beams (or fog lights). Now I am planning to get maybe a set of Xentec for my fog lights (or low beams). I'm still undecided what combinations I should go for the BEST lookI only want 5000k or 6000k only. Many thanks

Bulb sizes:Low Beam - H11High Beam - H9Foglights - H11

5000K, 6000K, etc are the color tempratures of the bulbs. A 5000K bulb is a pure diamond white color and gives off more light output (lumens) than a 6000K, which has a noticeable blue tint to it. Just remember the lower the temp, the more light you're actually getting. People tend to think the higher up the K rating you go, the more light you get, but they are wrong. The human eye perceives blue light as being brighter; however, that is not the case. 5000K > 6000K

absolutely right. However, the 1000K difference isn't that substantial - comparing 3200 lumens to 3000 lumens. They are both around 3x brighter than standard halogen bulbs. So switching to HIDs is a great move, disregarding kelvin. (Unless youre going >6000k which would just be asking for tickets).

thanks guys for your input.

I just bought a set of 6000k Xentec (hopefully it's Xentec) from ebay seller (hid4u) - he listed it as Xentech, but the picture shows Xentec brand - so i don't knowhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...h=022

another a set of 5000k X-light http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...h=017

was to buy 2 sets of X-lights, but the ebay seller ran out of H11 X-lights

I bought both sets for $155 total. *seems like 6000k low beam and 5000k for fog lights????

Hope to get these install by next week in these 20 degrees weather

Yes, I would definately go with 6000K low beams and 5000K fog lights...

I have factory HID low beams ( ~4300K), and Xentek 5000K HID fog lights... while I do like the double HID combo, the 5000K fogs make my 4300K low beams look like Halogens! That's not the way to go IMO! I hate the fact that my stock HIDs look like Halogens when compared to the low beams! In any case, you have the luxury of checking out the setup and changing it if you want to! But I would try the 6000L low, 5000K fog setup firs!

thanks for your input. that is exactly why i bought 6000k and 5000k. I can change whatever combinations I want.

go with the 6000k lowbeams and 5000k foggies, but tint the fog lenses yellow. That would look awesome IMO.

I'm pretty sure that you can just change the portion between the plug and the bulb. Look at the lower right (the bulbs connect to 2 wires) pic is copied from Mikemart's thread zerothread/298084

I'm going 6000K low beams and 8000K fogs.

I like that look the best. The 6000K HID's are bright enough.

The whole point of HID's is they have diffrent (K) 3000 is the best for fog lights, because they cut through fog alot better. 4300 is next up then 5000 then 6000. 6k would be the brighest for the headlights but if you want fogs you should get 5k or below that, unless your just looking for the looks. But for looks ide still say 3k or 8k because then it'll show yellow or blue .

4300k is the best for light output. It provides the most purest white on the kelvin scale, hence OEM HIDs are ~4300k. Anything over will be just leaning towards a blue tint to purple. It's all preference but I sure do like 3000k

so i have a 2.5s with the basic package without hid lights, so i could get one of these kits and make em HID? cuz these are def affordable for me lol, i thought HIDs cost a lot. im new to the car business so could someone explain to me would these work if i want HIDs for cheap? i couldve got em a few months ago if i knew about this

another question is,

my 2.5 didnt come with fog lights, but i have those 2 ugly sockets and i feel like its time to fill em in with some fogs,

what do i hafta do first? could i buy some OEM fog lights with stalks and just pop em in there? or is there a more complicated way cuz i called the dealer they said they hafta install something blahblah and it would cost me a lot of money.

could someone explain this to me thoroughly

these questions were prob answered before but i can't find it =[

thanks in advance
