My friend was doing some touchups on his 93 eclipse, and his headlights have that same gross yellow, faded, scratched look that the older s14's have. So he tried to fix it. Here's a shot of the improved headlight next to an untouched one. Keep in mind these are 10 year old headlights. :)

How'd he do it? Starting with about 200 grit sandpaper he sanded the entire thing, going down all the way to 2000 grit (used about 8 grits) then using plastic polish and a buffing pad. The pictures are pretty good but they look better in person. He said it took him a couple hours but he had to stop to get more sandpaper from the store.

Just thought I'd show this as another solution to the infamous headlight problem.. I will definitely be doing this when I get my s14.

ps - i hate the internet.

This gets rid of the yellowing.. and everything else. One thing the pictures don't tell is texture; the old headlight feels very rough and pitted, the other one is smooth as glass.

I tried plastic polish on my (Integra) headlights and didn't see much of a difference. I haven't tried chrome polish, though.
