ok so here it is i have a 96 s14 with a bone stock ka. i have done all the tune up stuff. so the problem is the first start of the day is the bad one. the pump will prime and when i go to crank it over it turns and all that, but it takes long to start it and after like 15 - 20 sec it starts and runs fine. its only on the cold stat-up is the bad start. im just lost on why it could take so long to start up. Thanks for any inputs.

Does it crank slowly? Or it will crank at normal speed and just wont start?

hey i'm currently have the same problem, mine's a 93 hatch though. chances are it's the coolant temperature sensor, i'm buying one tonight along with plugs, wires, cap, rotor. i'll let you know how it goes.

make sure that the plug to your coolant temp sender for the fuel injection not to temp gauge, it is not all corroded nastier gnarly looking I have ran into quite a few of them that were absolutely green with corrosion and that was a problem

Coolant temp sensor. Notorious on Nissans.

wow I had the same problem with mine. right after a tune up it would be hard to start but only the first start or if I left it for a while. I had changed everything to include plugs, coil, coolant temp, cap and rotor, fpr, fuel filter, fuel pump, cleaned iac. and to no avail...
