So in attempt to gain some sanity back, I figured I would post here....opposed to the Q45 forum, since erm....well, I wont get into what kind of people are in there.
My love for VIP style came about 3 years ago when I first saw a clean dumped Lexus LS. Didnt have anything amazing done to it, just slammed on 19 inch AutoCouture's sitting flush. Thats it. No curtains, hardly any tint, but it was spotless inside and out.
I dove deeper into the VIP scene and fell in love with the Q45...namely the Y33. Something about them that I couldnt escape, then I found the G50. I never really liked the ones with the grille.....but the grille-less screamed in my face. They seemed really redefined and classy to me....
My first "VIP" build was on my 2000 Infiniti I30. Not a true platform and I wasnt really 100% sure on what to do. I did what I thought looked good and was happy with the end product, but I tried TOO hard. Less is more in the "VIP world", something I didnt learn until after the matter.
So here I am, after 3 years, found "the perfect" G50....one that needed help! I didnt want one that was already clean and perfect, I wanted to do all the work and be proud of the beast that I created. Project started out with pie pan wheels, stock suspension, brown and tan interior that was ripped up, carpets stained, had some mechanical issues (needed tune up, etc) but it only had 1 owner before me and wasnt abused (older couple owned it). 136k miles when I bought it, and it was the perfect donor for my build (aside from the color)
Now as it sits, I converted the interior to black and gray....put in black carpet, fresh minty black leathers, redid the dash and all trim with black and gray suede. Current wheels are Infiniti full face's off of my I30 (same exact specs as pie pans except these are 16 inch) Sits on Z32 suspension with Q45a rear sway bar. Was thinking of kitting it, but decided against it....instead, I am going to rock the stock classy feel.
