Great, though my front tires wore pretty hard. I had one of the very few cars in the run group using street tires. I'll have to break down and get Rcomps.audtatious wrote:Looks like a fun time. How did your car fair?
As a matter of fact, I have one. The owner's name is Fritz. Excellent driver. He owns several FD's.Eikon wrote:Any pics of the RX7?
A friend of mine just sold his 870+ hp FD to someone in NC or VA... and I'm just curious if that might be the same car that you saw. It was a dark grey with a custom body kit and a hole in the hood for the stupidly large turbo. Probably more of a drag car than a circuit racer, but you never know.

LOL. I probably should, I get a lot more attention in paddocks with the truck than with the Z, especially when I fire up the truck.Dano wrote:Make a build-style thread on your car hauler
Cool. I was there Sunday thru Tuesday (drove home Wednesday). Those giant VW tents in the north paddock were erected while I was there. It looked you were there on the ideal weekend. The Rolex series, Mustang Challenge, VW TDI cup race, the Skip Barber series (they had 5 tractor trailers in the north paddock unloading when I was cleaning up. I also saw the big Playboy rig arrive, (unfortunately, no models), as well as a couple of the Rolex team rigs.car nut wrote:You were at VIR this weekend?!?! I'm still down here working on a Mustang Challenge car. I'll post a whole thread with a bunch of pics tomorrow.
DOOOO IT!Bubba1 wrote:LOL. I probably should, I get a lot more attention in paddocks with the truck than with the Z, especially when I fire up the truck.Dano wrote:Make a build-style thread on your car hauler
F1600's or F2000's?Bubba1 wrote:More from the back straight...

I'm not sure. They had 2-3 different classes running at the same time. But I did notice many of the formula cars in that group were Mazda powered.flohtingPoint wrote: F1600's or F2000's?
I know, LOL, I had a nice conversation with the owner. I was surprised how practical the dang thing was. He could fit 6 race tires, all his tools, a canopy, and spare parts in it without a trailer. He drove the car to/from the track. I can barely fit a suitcase in my Z in comparison.sentrastace wrote:

Chances are I know one of those folks. Dave Cutchins drives a Formula Mazda, I met him at the beginning of this year at a NASA Auto-X at Virginia Motorsports Park.Bubba1 wrote:I'm not sure. Cool. Those little formula cars are insanely fun. I drove Formula Dodges many times (Skip Barber).flohtingPoint wrote:[
