Another fuel pump ?

When I turn the ignition on without starting the engine the pump makes "that" noise for 5>10 secs. until it builds up pressure then stops until I start the engine, then it maks "that" sound again while the engine is running. I have to put my head in the trunk to hear it. I'm hoping if it cuts out without the engine running it's OK, and that it's just pumping normaly whilr the engine is running

I think you are correct. As long as the pump is not loud. I.e., when the engine is on, the pump is imperceptible - without putting your ear on the back seat - you should be okay.
