First complete refill of the j30 i just bought shows me I am getting 17.x MPG, mostly in city (4/5ths).

Is this bad or good?

Also the fuel tank gauge needle was near "E" when I still had 6.5 gallons left. Is this an infiniti thing?

I get around 15-16MPG, so I think your near where you should be. They claim 18-23MPG but our cars are a few years old, and their claims are sometimes high

I'm interested about the near "E" 6.5 gallon left question!

Anyone know how many gallons you have left when the light turns on?

Thanks

In town 17 mpg for a 6 cylinder car of this weight is perfectly normal.

(If it was mostly hiway it would be too low)

Tank is suppose to be 19.2 Gallons, as soon as the Gas Light Comes on I fill up. Usually fills up to 15.6 gallons. So there is roughly 3.5 gallons left. I have never been in the mood to find out if the tank really does hold 19.2 though.

2.85 for premium, and the gas station had lines.

And 17 miles per gallon(city) is what I get as well. The best I have ever done is 24 MPG, all highway in cruise and the AC off.

17 is pretty good IMO... Id consider that normal, and anything higher than that is a bonus!!

I average about 18-20mpg on Sunoco Octane94 premium for the city depending on how much gridlock I sit in. I've babied my J since it was new.

My 95 J30 still has 4.0 gallons remaining in the tank when the low fuel light goes on. Have measured this repeatedly and it is very consistent.
