So last night we got in my wife's Versa and her TPMS light was on. I got out of the car and looked at each tire but they all looked fine. I figured we had a faulty TPMS sensor like so many other people. I got my tire gauge out and checked. Turns out that each tire was only at 29 psi. That's pretty low because the door badge says to set them at 33 and the maximum pressure listed on the tires themselves is 44. I got my compressor out and put 35 psi in each one. I got back in the car and turned the key but the TPMS light was stll on. But then I got the owners manual out and read it. It says that the TPMS light will only reset after the car has been driven over 14 MPH. So I took it for a drive and the light went out. I guess they actually work!

Yep. Mine came on a few weeks ago, when we had our first somewhat cold morning. Same thing happened last year. Filled the tires to around 40 psi, then backed them down to 33. Drove a bit and the light went off, as expected.

Well I knew it was some strange number. That's the second weird number I've seen associated with this car. The first one was when I was reading about the ikey. The book says it must be within something like 31" from the door. Now the TPMS says to drive over 16 MPH. I wonder if these items were calibrated for metric? Maybe the metric conversions for these numbers are something a little more even?

i bought my versa a month ago, 1 week after having the car the tpms light came on. I too thought that it must of been a problem as others had. I checked the tires anyway and the passenger side back tire was low. I put some air in it.. drove few minutes and it turned off. so thats it right,, NO. 2 days later it comes on again so i put air in it again and plan on having it checked out the next day. The next morning comes and its totally flat! Now where i screwed up, I decided to use the fix-a-flat can i had sitting in my garage and then proceeded to drive it to the local tire place. I told them the story and they said i shouldn't of used fix-a-flat because it eats away at the rubber in the tire. long story shorter.. i had to get a new tire and luckily the fix-a-flat didnt ruin the tpms sensor. The funny part was i didnt even take it to get gas yet but I already had a new tire at 235 miles!! i ran something over that caused the slow leak, and the tpms worked, but did not warm me to not use fix-a-flat haha

but since then it's worked like 3 times, ended up having a nail in the tire.

I understand that Fix-a-flat could be bad for your pressure sensor, but how is it bad on your tires? A products designed, and proven over many many years is actually bad for your tires? Say what?

I've never heard that it's bad for the rubber in your tire, but I know for a fact that guys who work in tire shops hate when people use Fix-a Flat. I guess it's a real mess to scrape out of a tire to do a patch repair.

There is technical service bulletin about replacing the BCM(Body Control Module) if tire light is on with pressures being within spec. I'm a tech at a nissan dealer and have dealt with this issue.

I work in the part department of a Nissan dealer. We've been replacing a lot of BCM'S in Versa's. We keep a few in stock now becuase of so many needing replacement.

In 12,500 miles I've replace 2 sensors and 1 BCM for flashing tpms light. The light still comes on steady from time to time. (Fill it to 50 psi and return to normal takes care of the steady light issue) The system SUCKS

Dealer quotes,

"Do you have a flat tire?""Put an extra 1 psi of air in all tires""It's winter out, it's normal"

Repeat: The system SUCKS on the Versa

Just a guess... your Versa was built before December 2006, wasn't it?

Picked up a roofing nail that caused a very slow leak in the tire. Took a week to loose a few pounds of pressure. If it hadn't been for the TPMS alerting me a few times, I would have let it go. I wound up having to take the tire off to inspect it. The nail was the same color as the tire. It was not easy to find. I like the system.
