Not sure if I posted this before, but here's something I've learned recently.

The A/C had THREE condtions. One is of course A/C, indicated by the legend "A/C' on the tp right corner of the display.Second is "Econ", obtained by pressing the "6" button for the Nav/multipurpose panel. It is indicated by the legend "ECON" on the top right corner of the display. This does NOT turn the compressor off. Rather, it puts it into a low ourput status, wherein the compressor doesn't work at full capacity.Third is COMPLETELY off. To get to this, press the "6" button TWICE. The indicator then goes blank.

If the outside temp is moderate, choosing "ECON" will produce refigerated cold air, even with the temp set fairly high.

To get warm or heated air with the compressor off, one must select the compressor completely off setting, where the indicator is blank by pressing the "6" button twice. The heat function works properly then.

After trying to get warm air on cool mornings, I took the car in to the dealer and had them check it out. They said it worked fine. So, I had to resort to the dreaded "RTFM". Sure enough, if you look carefully, it's right in there. It's just not readily apparent unless you read the whole section in the owner's manual. Also, the 2005 has auto headlight leveling, whereas earlier F50's have manual leveling.

And 2005 also has remote auto trunk opening by using the electronic "key". Press once to unock the trunk, then press a second time and hold the button for a second or two. The trunk warning beeper will sound and the trunk lid will power up all by itself.

Another tidbit: The remote/electronic "key" can be mated to the memory for the seats. It wil then autnoatically select the memory settings for that driver, and will remember the last audio and climate control settings for that driver too.

Finally, auto headlights and rain sensing wipers are standard on 2005 models.

Alas, no more power headrest in the '05 F50.

No automatic power door locks like my wife's 2000 Ford Focus either.

Serves me right for buying an economy car instead of a luxury car.Wait, the Focus IS an economy car.

Oh yeah, and ya hafta navigate the on-screen display to the Climate Control window to see the ambient temp.

Glad to share what I learn. Lord knows *I* learn enough from others here, and I know I appreciate it.
