First it was the ebay GReddy knock off, and now this. It looks like a Borla knock off. However, it is only $135 unlike the GReddy knock off at $500. I wonder if anyone is willing to try it?

lol If they have a good return policy someone local should pick one up and return it if its crap. I don't think any Canadians would want to experiment with those import taxes!

Welp, I just went ahead and ordered one of those $175 muffler doohickees. Apparently a cat back, and if you look a little carefully, you'll notice the input pipe going to the muffler is on the left side, whereas the stock muffler's input is coming in from the right. That leads me to believe the muffler part of this ebay thing cannot simply be used as an axle back... without some welding here and there. So I'll have the whole "cat-back" thing put on, and if there are any issues, hack it and get 'r done legal.

I have no other mods on my coupe yet. I'm hoping this does not sound too ricey or Fart can like... but seeing how it's not a potatoe cannon spec, I have my hopes it will at least pass for "decent" if not the Borla growl I'd really love to hear....

And now off I go for an ebay WAI...

wait till coupevq35cvt gets his... I have a feeling that th pic is just upside down and it would be abl to be used as an axle back but even if you had to go to a mufler shop and have them do 50 bucks worth of work to make it work that's still like a 200 dollar axle back and not a bad deal at all

Hey guys. Yeah I ordered it just last night. Hopefully it gets here by next weekend so I can get it all hooked up. Actually if you look at the hangers, the twin hangers are on the same side as stock BUT the input pipe is on the left for sure. I did think the image was mirrored at first... But yah the shop I go to can weld things for cheap so it should not be a big deal either way.

BTW, if you read the item description it say it's for "race or show" something. Either the thing's too loud, OR it replaces the 3rd cat with section you see with a bulge (resonator likely). But I'll be going legal anyway (the shop guy won't do it otherwise).

Yeah I've had good luck with the fleabay exhaust stuff. And hey $175+ labor/minor welds for a different sound. Sure. People pay $800 for other systems for pretty much the same reason (+ 2-3 whp). Fingers crossed.

So did you receive it yet? If it fits right and doesn't sound bad I might get it. You probably saw this coming... Do you think you could post a sound clip once you install it? TIA

Oh geez I volunteer to test this thing and you get all demanding. Hah.

No I don't think the shady ebayer even shipped my order yet. Damn thing better get here Friday noon. Gonna send him a nice note.

Yah you bet your Altima there will be sound clips. No I am too lazy to do a stock setup sound clip. But maybe I will do that for good comparison.

Please paypal your donations to [email protected]. It takes a lot to share what's mine. All that gas I'll spend on revving the engine for your audio pleasure.

Ok you can keep your money.

haha I don't mean to sound demanding in any way. Maybe a mod will be gracious enough to send you some Nico stickers because you were brave enough to be a guinea pig!

I'm not big on ebay but I hear that feedback means a lot to sellers, or not. Try leaving bad feedback or threatening it. Good luck.

Well at least you have a good sense of humor. You shall be awarded greatly. Or something like that.

Yah I sent an email asking if the item was shipped, he got paid on the 2nd. If he had a hangover from the 4th, it's well over now.

Oh, and here is another cheap-ish idea I had.. taking a Chevy Camaro style transverse muffler and having the shop add the elbows for the tips... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

So you want to buy me with NICO stickers now? Eh? Eh? What the hell?I say go for it.

Is there a particular reason you think that Camaro transverse muffler will sound good? I'm pretty sure our stock mufflers are transverse. A while ago someone welded on a 350Z stock muffler and it didn't change the sound much. If you search youtube quite a few people have custom set-ups, but nothing stands out.

Well the 350z muffler idea would work if the rest of the exhaust was the same as 350z I suppose, so yah I'm not surprised it didn't sound too different on a Alti coupe.

As for the Camaro muffler, yah it has two outlets for one thing, so I guess it would be easier to put it together. Also yes, after hearing dual flow masters on a coupe sound mean as hell, and my experience with my Sentra 1.8 with its Flowmaster 40 (haha yes go ahead and laugh.. soon the headache will catch up to you too) I imagine the V6 in my coupe should sound way nicer and aggressive.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not but I sent an email to that seller yesterday asking if this exhaust will pass emissions and this was his reply:

"They are made for off road use only, it will not pass any type of smog check."

I may still get it as it is super cheap, depends if I can find a shop to pass me.

Yes I'm aware of that as well. As far as emissions testing is concerned, like I mentioned earlier, I'll only be able to get this done the "legal" way or the guy at the shop won't proceed. The only thing I can see that would be the reason for this to be illegal for street use would be if the midpipe somewhere replaces the stock cat. In that case it'll be a simple cut and weld job to keep things in place and therefore not compromise the emission crap.

Totally worth the extra effort if it sounds decent at that price.

Yay it shipped just now!

Here is a clip with dual Magnaflows followed by dual Flowmasters... I think the Flowmaster setup sounds way meaner and aggressive...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...latedThat Camaro muffler may not sound exactly like this (being a single muffler rather than two) but the near muscle car sound at least in the video clip is really nice.

That sucks. Couldn't you have picked it up from the FedEx center? Anyway are you installing it yourself? I wonder what the return policy is, in case you don't like it.
