Ive sold OBDI DE motor to a friend of mine with a single cam, its really late and hes all worried so i want to find him some answers, all info i have found is for s13 DE motors.

When i sold him the motor it came with the DE engine, Dist, Engine harness and ECU. The dash harness is a main concern. If we were to just match colors there would be about 15 wires left over. I know if the harness is s13 DE then there are only 3 wires left, and none of which are critical. We know we need to custom make some a/c lines, or at least we think that at this point.

Who has done this or who can offer any direction? Can it be done? Is the only option, finding an external coil distributor and harness and ecu to match? I hope not. Thanks,~Sam

Trying to put a S14 harness and ECU into a S13 chassis is not as simple as matching the wires colors...you really should find a S13 DE wire harness, ECU, MAF, and dizzy...will make your life much easier.

Or spend hours and hours trying to make a S14 harness work in that chassis...it's been done, butthere is no point in doing ALL that work for no gain..when there is a plug-n-play option to be had.

Agreed. You'll have enough hard time doing the swap itself, you shouldn't worry yourself with re-wireing half of a harness when there is a simpler way. You could prolly sell the s14 harness or trade for an s13. Might hve to give up some cash but it's very well worth it.

thanks for the help guys, i think he is going to wind up trying to find a s13 harness. Im guessing the s14 ecu will not work with the s13 harness, given the internal coil dist corrcect?~Sam

Nope...different plugs.

...

Good choice on using an S13 harness.
