Do you A owners have a good technique to getting to the oil filter?

Looks like I have to take the intake off to get it out. Am I missing something?

Always change from bottom [on a lift] after removing belly pan. That way you get to clean up all the leaked oil with spray copious amounts [multi cans at times] of brake cleaner and examine all the undersides for replacement opportunities.

Presently driving a lot [3,000 miles per month] so I get to spend Monday doing car house keeping -- changing oil every 6 weeks and checking everything over. Surprised the Q, can still take it after the the last few years of benign low annual mileage.

Interestingly, now that I am back to conventional oil [10w30] and oem filter the engine still only loses [uses] < a quart in 4,000 miles [6 weeks]......about double the Mobil 1 in what was a 3 month period for the same 4,000 miles.

About to turn to 279,000 miles...........due to lots of idling - frequent starts BG44K and MOA-111 now at [or prior depending on product] every oil change.

This city/traffic idling is wrecking the system cleanliness [TB/plenum egr oily dirt] but with my high mileage to be expected [blowby from ring wear]

Thanks for the input. Your mileage is impressive! I hope to one day be there. How's your interior holding up?

Well, I change interiors as needed [door arm rests] other than glove box, visors, some door surround, ashtray [94] everything is orginal. Drivers seat leather outer edge bolster is starting to crack.

Needs new front carpet but no holes.

Gray, black and blue are all that hold up.........white and tan have very limited life due to dye composition.
