So I bought an ac recharge kit thinking this would make my ac pump out cold air instead of just air.

When I connected it the gauge read in the red...saying not to add any freeon

So I can't source the problem

It's a 95 240sx with a redtop sr

What could cause this? I know it has to be the compressor or condensor but it still pumps air...?!?

I know it's prob a noob ? But I want to get it right but don't want to buy the wrong parts,

Tried seaching for you haters And nothin like it came up

Thanks in advance

recharge kits you buy at the auto parts stores aren't anything special. before buying any parts i would recommend buying a dye kit to try and source out where your leak is first, then go from there. Most likely your condensor though.

Why don't you stop cheaping out and get it charged correctly and safely by a mechanic? I don't believe the recharging of frion is that expensive. Probably much cheaper than you releasing frion on you and the ground and having to replace it completely.

Yeah he said he hooked it up and it said it didn't need freon szo its not leaking, but the freon could be inert. It need to be extracted and not let into the air and refilled with new. Then check the system to see if it works. If not its most likely the compressor.
