of most note here is that apparently 1.)This is an absolute shame since Obama spent all that time weaving that rug himself. and 2.) as Mr. SRussell1 wrote in the comments section of the article "Iidiot President, what else would you expect from tnis moron."

the comments section like usual is filled with delightful nuggets of GOP talking points. Peppered with references to ACORN, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, Kenya, Harvard, Journolist, and of course, SOCIALISM.

yeah, and stebo thinks us libbies have our fair share of crazy. sorry son, ain' no crazy like tea party crazy

Say wha....? Bush was behind 9/11...wha? Bush wasnt legitimate president wha? Sorry but your camp has its own lazy eye joes. My point wasnt to say who's crazies are crazier, I dont think you could solidly argue either way, I only indicated that BOTH camps have some nut-jobs, the worst of which are the everyday joes who get on sites like mediamatters and post irrational comments

Man, I worry about you, brother. The problem with endless conspiracy theories is that after a certain point, everything is a conspiracy and you fall into a depression. But seriously, the Post is a great bastiane of conservatism? I mean sure they do have excellent Redskins football coverage, but they sure arent the Times...
One thing that really caught my eye was,
Early in the narrative, Remnick, the editor of the New Yorker, presents this as "Barack Obama's favorite quotation." It appears that neither Remnick nor Obama has traced the language to its true source.
I guess in a culture of mass media and the Cult of Personality, scholasticism and getting things right is simply not imperative. You would think a great scholar (as a professor) would seem to want to get things right. Oh well, that is why our hope is not in mere mortal men, and our God does not change.

i hope you understand, i dont see a consipiracy. im not the one who is charging that they got the quote wrong. The comments section speaks for itself. As for the quote, im fairly certain that while it may have been said by someone in the 19th century, it was also said by MLK who paraphrased it, and made famous in that way. As a result, i dont see any issue with proper attribution. My point is yet again, a non issue is turned into a great cultural disaster, and further evidence of this man's inability to do anything right.
facts:
1.) BHO did not make this carpet himself, nor design it.
2.) BHO did not use tax payer money from the general pool to pay for this. it came from money left over from his campaign, and a special fund allotted to EVERY president.
3.) Just because you dont have a job, does not mean the country cant spend a dime or start a project until you do. If you want a job, get education, work harder, and get off welfare.
"The White House wouldn't reveal the overall cost of the new look, but said in a statement that it was "in line with the amount spent by Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush on the redesigns of their Oval Office." It added that the funds came from the nonprofit White House Historical Association, through a contribution from the presidential inaugural committee."

If we could quiet down the anger a bit, I'd like to point out that the rug does correctly attribute its quote. King did speak those words, and while it's argued that King took inspiration from another man (a great many years before), King did not directly quote the guy. He paraphrased.

Maybe that's not important to you, but would the (Conservative American) world be any less outraged had they correctly attributed the original quote but left it with King's summation? I bet they'd even find a way to be upset by the use of the original quote in all its awkwardly-worded glory (from a modern view) as a sign of President Obama's inability to connect with the general public.

Cliffsnote: Much more ado about nothing.

^ THIS.

We have real criticisms, rooted in rational thought. None involve redecorating, birth certificates, or Arabic-sounding names.

Please add to the "much ado about nothing" list: rounds of golf on weekends and weekends away from the White House. Trying to make federal cases out of them only serves to distract from the real damage being done to this country. Those items pale in comparison to the amount being spent elsewhere, taking care of cronies and no one with any business experience in his inner circle.

My bad, and you're right. I've been guilty of that one.
