Ok so I just got off the phone with tirerack. I'm looking at Enkei RPF1 wheels for a 95 ford mustang to put on my 240. The fronts are 17x9.0 with an offset of 22mm, the rears are 17x9.5 with an 18mm offset.

First question, should and can I put 245 wide tires all around, I don’t really want to force an understeer condition by having too much tire in the rear. I'm sure the rears will fit, I'm mostly concerned about the fronts. At the moment I have aftermarket shocks and springs on the car.

If I do that what will the difference .5" in wheel width have on the fit and performance of the front tires.

If I put 235's on the front math says it should fit the same as the 245 on the rear (about .5" difference in tire width) however the overall diameter will be smaller, should I be concerned. Also how much if any noticeable understeer would this create?

the tirerack guy was very helpful but stayed away from answering questions about fitment due to them not offering the wheels I was looking at for my car. He even said "I'll sell you whatever you want to buy, but only guarantee what we list for your specific vehicle".

why not just run the same wheel size if youre going to run the same tire size

the 17x9 +22 fit all around with 235/40 tires, might as well go that route

245s will probably fit with spring/shock combo, but if you ever get coilovers they more than likely wont, unless you got coilovers with lots of clearance

I have no problem running the same size tire, actually I would prefer to for the oversteer. I like the staggered look and the dish or additional lip the less positive offset has in the rear.

Would running 235's on both the 9.0" & 9.5" wide tire work or would the 235 be too stretched over the wheels.

Thanks for the advice. Wheels for me are a big purchase and I don't want to f*** it up.

could be wrong, but isn't the face of the RPF1's the same, regardless of offset? If not, hell, they seem like it.

too stretched? nah... no such thing, lol. My buddy has a 235/40 on a 10"you'll be fine...

but your better off just getting an all around wheel size if you getting an all around tire size... it doesn't really make sense not to

Well this is the look I'm going for, tell me what you think.

I'd love to know the specs of these wheels but from what I've gathered the ones for the stang should give me the look I'm going for.

I glad you're in a good mood too. Very nice, and exactly what I needed to see. I was wronge about the concave face then, I think it's only in the 19". Oh well. Thanks again.

bringing this thread back from the dead, what evr happened did you end up getting the wheels? Anyone with other pictures of RPF1s I would love to see them...please list offset, sizes and also if fender rolling or pulling was required. I want to run 8s in the front and 9s in the back with +20 offsets. I am hoping this doesn't require any rolling.
