I would agree with you. I only said so because of earlier models of RS-6 that had about similar horsepower ratings as a GTR, except they did so with a V-8. Of course, the upcoming Honda NSX which is a competitor to the GTR will be arriving with a V-10, no different from the RS-6. Another comparison to the GTR is the All Wheel Drive system---Audi is also master of AWD systems just as Subaru. Also include the backseats for comparisons.
Also, Nissan has no intention to develop a V-8 or a V-10, at least none that I know of, to do the same thing the RS-6 or E63 does. I suspect Nissan wants to master the V-6 planet with unchallenged authority just as Porsche has done. Btw, the GTR has been found to be able to produce close to 600HP or more--it is seriously restricted as a stock car. The RB26DETT engine, which was used by previous Skyline models, could easily produce 600HP. Remeber, the VR38DETT engine of the GTR is based on both the RB26DETT and VQ35DE/HR engine.
So, i would say that there is a lot of comparison with the RS-6. I would dare say that the market both companies are seeking maybe different. Perhaps, Audi is perfectly comfortable with a V-10 instead of a V-6. Only company happy with a six cylinder doing the job of an 8 or 10 cylinder, is a porsche.
