I did a search, nothing that helped too much. I have a 89 coupe. The car runs fairly good (just got it). Here's the skinny: The car will start right up when it's cold, I don't think it turns over once before it fires up and idles. The idle is somewhat smooth but extremely low, like 500rpm in park. If I put it in gear it'll drop to about <400rpm. This sucks because it's cold here! After it warms up it will idle just fine, but at 1000rpm in park which is too high. I have checked all the electrical connections at the idle terminals and all of them are good, no corrosion or loose pins. Is the valve that controls the cold idle adjustable if this is my problem? If anyone has had the problem and fixed it or knows some advice please send it my way! Thanks, Justin

it sounds as if the cold idle valve is stuck partially closed. if its the bimetal type just replace it. no adjustment or repair available for it. Besides its not that much at the dealer.
