Yeah I know you guys have heard this many times! here is my issue. You can turn key over and it sounds like its going to start but never goes. It just turns and turns and turns..

Thought it was the distributor. Put a new one on, same problem. There is no power going in or coming out of the 6 prong wiring harness connecting into the distributor. The other wiring harness is getting plenty of power. The only thing we can hear that is different is if you leave the key in the on position, there is very loud almost buzzing/fast ticking noise coming from right above teh bellhousing. This is on the passenger side bellhousing. If you are standing on the passenge side of the car and look in between teh firewall and the intake manifold you will see a purple wiring harness. Right below and further away you will see a brown wiring harness. Whatever that brown wiring harness is plugged into is causing the very loud buzzing sound. The closest thing it sounds like is a phone vibrating on a table... not quite as loud. When I unplugged this wiring harness the buzzing noise goes away but the car still does not catch spark and start....

im pretty sure that loud buzzing noise your hearing is your starter, check to find out why you have no spark.

that thing is more commonly known as iacv or idle air control valve, i'm pretty sure you get what it does, the name explains it all. maybe it's bad on you or there is a short somewhere or w.e., have you tried to start her with the throtle wide open? if you did and it still didn't start then this l;il buddy is probably not your problem

i had the same problem. easiest way to check your timing. take the plugs out, have someone kick the ignition over, while you hold your hand over the 1st cylinder hole. wait till you feel compression. then set tdc and check the distr to make sure the rotor button is pointing to #1

just got a ka24de from a pick n pull for 153. dollars.i put a socket on tha crank and tried to spin it and it was a little too hard for me to spin.does that nessecerily mean it aint gonna turn over?or could it be that they drained tha oil b 4 they set tha car on site?if so, i aint gonna rip it apart. ill take my chances. tha motor looks good n clean, wit no leaks or blown seals so thats why i got it.hit me up. . .
