I picked up a copy of Korn greatest hits yesterday. I have all their CD's already, and all their songs on a WMA CD for in my car, so I didn't really need it for any of their already existing songs. The reason I bought it was because it has a cover of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the wall. Some of you may remember me saying in another thread around here somewhere that my four favorite bands are 1. Led Zeppelin 2. Jethro Tull 3. Pink Floyd and 4. Korn.So a song written by one of my favorite bands and performed by another would have to be pretty damn cool, right?

This song is one of the most incredible cover songs I have ever heard. It is completely loyal to the original (even retaining the guitar solos--one of the best parts--instead of making their own), while adding Korn's unique sound to an already incredible song. While I still like the Pink Floyd version the best, this is one song that's going to get a lot of playtime.

There's also a cover of "Word Up" on the CD which is great.

Sweet, I'm gonna have to look into that. Zepplin and Floyd are definatly both in my top ten favorite bands.

You have good taste, my friend.Just don't buy it at Walmart, since they only sell edited CD's.Plus, the CD comes with a DVD of Korn's performance at CBGB in New York.

Pink Floyd > all others

They have been my favorite band since I was old enough to have my own taste in music. Dark Side was the first tape I ever owned (yes, TAPE.... this was 1981-ish). I got to see them live in 1993... most amazing show EVER!

In a strange coincidence, I never liked Korn at all UNTIL I saw them live. They put on one hell of a great show.. and I started getting into them ever since.

So, I guess I will have to pick up the new Korn CD. Rumor has it that both David Gilmour and Roger Waters have new solo albums coming out early next year. It's too bad they couldn't settle their differences and put out a new Floyd project. Hell, maybe even invite Syd back from the insane and get his unique input!

Very nice. I think the first album I ever owned was Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door.

After that, it was Dark Side of the Moon.

I think Aqualung after that. All three on tape, now I have all three on CD as well. I've got the original vinyl release of Led Zeppelin 1.

If you haven't hear Jethro Tull, and you like FLoyd, you really should check them out. Get Aqualung. Check out Aqualung, Cross Eyed Mary, Locomotive Breath, specifically, on that album. Very good classic rock--british style, as it should be.

The local planetarium does both Laser Floyd and Laser Zeppelin shows in their stardome. It's really incredible. I'd give anything to see either of them live, but that's not likely.

Oh... I am also a big Jethro Tull fan! Infact, one of the bands I played for was called "Old Charley".... as in, "Old Charley stole the handle.... and the train it won't stop rollin', no way to slow down."

I agree 100%, Tull kicks all sorts of a$$.... Cross Eyed Mary is on my top 10 favorites.

That cover of Cameo's "Word Up" made me lose whatever respect I had for that band.

They could have at least made it more hard core or changed it up a little - Unbelievably lame.

Seems like everyone who liked the original "Word Up" hates Korn's version. And everyone who likes Korn's version hates the original. At least...that's what I've seen so far.

Not a Korn fan but I'd like to hear the rendition.

Floyd, Zep, Marley & the Wailers, Hendrix, and The Doors are prob my favorite artists of all time.

Steve Miller Band, Doobie Brothers, Tom Petty, and Phish are pretty up there too.

Rock on.

I loved Korn until they released Issues. Thats when they decided hey lets stop making good music. There was no feeling in it anymore. Shameless selling themselve IMO. I hate their cover of "Word Up" It's ****. Though I hate it because the radio wont stop playing it. I am in no way knocking your taste man. Floyd, Tull, and Zeph all rock hard. Korn should have hung it up after Follow the Leader.

That's funny. I haven't heard Korn on the radio around here for ages, except when they played Y'all Want A Single over and over and over right after Take a Look in the Mirror came out. What a stupid song to play on the radio...it was 90% edited.

I swear i remember when they over played that here. Damn I hate listening to the radio. SO many bands I hate because of their over exposure. 102.9 The Buzz plays that damn word up every hour on the hour. Or they did,, I hope they have ceased.

The only radio I listen to anymore is Radio From Hell in the mornings on X96. Talk show, not music. Other than that it's MP3 or WMA or CD. So it's likely that Word Up is being overplayed here, too. I hate it when radio ruins a good song by overplaying it. I'm not sure which is worse...a bad song overplayed, or a good song overplayed. Either way...I'll stick to my optical storage media.

By the way...you seem strangely literate for a 4 year old (your profile).

Hahaha Damn Profile. Not sure why it says 4. Have to change that...

I also mostly listen to CD's, but at work i got the radio. It was cool when we had 2 rock stations. One was good the other Mediocore. Sadly the Mediocore one stayed and the other went rap.

Fixed the profile. Also i remember you quoted ICP in your previous sig. What do you think about the last part of the Wraith and also the latest ABK cd? I like them both. The Wraith hell's pit is pretty dark. And ABK is just a good time.

Actually, I haven't heard much ABK...not enough to place a song with the name. I liked the Wraith though. It's one of the best ICP albums. It's up there with Tunnel of Love and Greak Milenko (my favorite of all).

--Ahh damn. I just spilled coke on the keyboard...good thing I'm at work and not home....crap, better get that taken care of...

I think my Fav. ICP Album is still Riddle Box. The only one I really dont care for is the jeckal Bros. ABK is great because he has a lisp kinda like Jump Steady. He has talent though and some good lyrics. He's no Maddrox though.
