Hey guys. I was curious if a small amount of vibration felt in the brake pedal when at a stop while in drive is normal? I never really noticed it until recently (not sure if I just didn't notice it before), and I'm wondering if I'm being overly vigilant in this particular case. Please let me know your experiences so I can determine if I'm being crazy or not. Thanks!

Are you attempting to stop or are you already stopped? If you are still moving and feeling a vibration it could be a warped rotor. If you are completely stopped and feeling a vibration in the brake pedal it might be due to ethanol in your fuel which these cars do not like.

I had a problem when in Ohio with all gas stations having 15% ethanol in there gas and my V did not like it one bit. It had a bad vibration in the engine once I was below 5mph or at a complete stop. the solution in my case was to put regular gas with no ethanol in my tank and the problem never returned.

BTW welcome to NICO and the Versa forums.

At a complete stop. No excessive ethanol in gasoline as far as I know in Washington State.

My best guess would then be not the brakes at all but might be a broken motor mount. Some V have reported that problem, or it could be normal I would check with your NIssan dealer and have them investigate it under warranty.

WA state apparently is no longer required to have ethanol, as long as they have sufficient substitute compounds in the gas. most companies just use ethanol anyway, at a rate no higher than 10%.

But the vibration is not notmal, I agree with the motor mount diagnosis.

If your dealer can't find it, take it to Campbell Nelson in Edmonds, they'll be able to find it.

I noticed something similar this morning, but it went away when I turned the vent fans off...

i was curious, is the motor mount issue more prominent in the '07s? seems more people with '07s have had the issue. i was wondering if anyone with an '08 had similar issues, as it might be the cause of the noise i hear when downshifting.
