Hi everyone,

New to the forum so please be gentle if some of my questions are not up to par.

My 1st question is does Infiniti warranty brakes? My wife’s G37 Sport has about 26K miles on it and while the braking performance is fine, it looks like they are getting low as indicated by the brake fluid being at the half way marker as well as the VDC Off light constantly coming on. I’m taking the wheels off tonight to do a more thorough inspection.

I know it sounds crazy about a warranty on brakes but I ask because we had a 2005 G35 coupe and every 10K miles the brakes we GONE and Infiniti changed them under warranty. I think there were brake issues with that model and that is why we got the warranty, but interested to see if maybe that carried over?

2nd question if brakes are not warranty is what brake setups are recommended? The car is a lease that is going back in July so I’m not looking to spend too much but don’t want to put garbage on there either that will be trashed in 10K miles.

Warranty items. Alot of information in this thread about warranty items for several different models. Although a brake warranty is probably not going to be in effect due to mileage. The VDC light is coming on because the brake fluid is low. Top it off and that should solve that issue. Are there any shakes/vibrations in steering at freeway speed braking under moderate brake pressure? Any brake squealing under light braking? We have already discussed the brake options in PM, but to recap for others: Stop Tech Rotors & Hawk Pads are always an excellent choice for replacement upgrade.

@red_det

I am getting ready to change my pads. I understand it is much like the 370z.

Where should I get pads that DO NOT BLOW BLACK SUT all over my wheels?

You should get them from me. i swear by the Project MU NS pads. Better stopping performance than OEM and 10x less dust. I used the Brembo OEM pads and my wheels would be black in 2-3days. I switched to Project MU and it takes 2wks to get that amount of dust now, sometimes even longer. They do cost more than the Hawks ceramic though. About the same price as the Hawk HPS pads.

I checked my wife's car last night. The rotors look to be in very good condition but could use a little resurfacing (going to have my buddy who is a Tech resurface them)

Car feels/sounds fine while braking. No issues other than the VDC which is freaking the wife out.

However the pads are getting pretty low which is why the lights are on. The wife is really concerned about the whole thing so I had her poking her head in to see that everything is safe for the short term and I gave her a little Brakes 101 and she was :crazy:

I'm probably going with a set of Hawk HPS
I've had great experience with Hawks on my car and will put them on my wife's car if the price difference isn't too great from Infiniti pads (buddy is seeing what kind of deal he can get me)

By the way, what a great looking setup the Infiniti's have
