My rear pads have squeaked since I got the car 3.5k miles ago. I'm going to replace all 4 corners even though there is plenty of pad on all of them, I don't know what's on the car now, and I don't want to mix and match. So there's more than few options out there....I'm curious to see what other owners have put on their M's. I have heard great stuff about EBC/Hawk/Project Mu, but jeez - there's 5 different kinds of each of them! I'm hoping my squeak is coming from the pads and not the rotors. I have a M56s with the sport brakes.

Searching the forum didn't quite produce great results, a few things here or there. I'm hoping owners can cast a vote below for some more thorough feedback. Concerns are the standard - noise, dust, hot/cold, fading. Let's assume all are equally important here.

Funny story,

I took my infinity to the dealership for routine maintenance and they informed me that the rear brake pads were the wrong ones which caused my car to squeak and act funny, they asked me to take it back to the place where I purchased the car from which I did and informed them what the dealership said and they replaced, no questions asked, seeing I had the car for only 2 weeks. I have the regular factory Brembo brakes on the ride. Thought about brakes lately but just like you about the different brands out there.

I will be keeping my eye on this tread.

Project Mu NS is what I'm running now. No squeak, no noise, super low dust and bites hard when you ask.

I've heard almost every pad on the M56S brakes squeak. Possibly one from Napa doesn't, but I'd prefer better braking and I'll just live with noise.

I'm running Hawk HPS all around.

Maybe i misunderstood but brembo is not the factory brakes for either the sport or the non sport. Infiniti uses akebono brakes on their sport models. Fun fact akebono is what the mclaren p1 uses for its brakes we basically own a mclaren :chuckle: . (ps Infinity is not equal to infiniti ;) )

I stand corrected, I think I might be seeing things, lol
