another brake light problem!

so today i noticed my brake lights weren't coming on but my taillights were.i already checked the fuse to the taillights, checked the plastic grommet, and i checked to see if the switch was working right, and all of it was fine. i took an old test light and it seems as if the switch is not getting power, i took a test light and it did not light up to either wire.

the only things i messed with electrically today were: moved around stereo (loose wires are tapped off), i soldered my window amp, i tapped on a wire to my speaker because the connector broke.

any advise will be helpful thanks

another thing i messed with was i out new rear brake pads. and machined the rotors.

and today my stereo stopped working

thanx for the reply,i actually found out with the rainy weather here and the wire being exposed (some how) caused it to ground around something an melted a small section of the wire, causing the fuse to blow and a dead wire. i previously sealed off the wire with tubing and couldn't see where it was melted at.but it's all fixed now thnx vancouverbc
